In this episode, I talk with Ana Maria Sanin, Director of Business Development with PRMG on the East Coast. Ana’s background is in the fashion industry and she owned her own business as an image consultant working with entrepreneur women. Four years ago, she transitioned to the mortgage industry and today, she works specifically in the area of recruiting and talent acquisition through building relationships and creating awareness for the personal brand at the ground level.

Ana breaks down how you can get your name out there independently to act as a business developer. Instead of getting caught up or overwhelmed with the multitude of options available to start building your brand, just start with one thing or platform and go from there. Ana explains why it’s so important to speak to your niche audience and share content relevant to them, as well as the challenges she faced when she first started. (Hint: Don’t focus on what you’re doing wrong when you don’t see immediate results!) We also discuss key characteristics to look for in a business development officer when you’re ready to hand over that responsibility to someone else, and how to nurture relationships, not just with clients, but your team as well. Tune in to find out more.

In this episode, I get to sit down with Josh Pitts, the Founder and CEO of SHRED Media, and host of The SHRED Show. Josh worked with one of the biggest mortgage companies in Utah for many years and started transitioning into helping loan officers and real estate agents build their brand and brand awareness a few years ago. In early 2019, he founded SHRED Media, focused on getting people to Show up, Hustle, and Repeat Every Day.

Josh shares what he finds critical in the marketplace in terms of using social media. He highlights the importance of building a brand (rather than focusing on branding), and reveals a secret — it’s not difficult, it just takes consistency. Josh’s strategy for building a brand is through AIR: (grab) Attention, (create) Impact, (stay) Relevant. We dive into why you need to stop procrastinating and just start, in order to grab attention, and the best way to make an impact by talking about things you’re passionate about and creating relationships. Josh also has tips for staying relevant and being consistent. Tune in to find out what Jennifer’s challenge to you is in this episode.

In this episode, I get to sit down with Colleen Biggs, Co-Founder of Lead Up for Women, a weekly VoiceAmerica radio show which focuses on helping and supporting women entrepreneurs and women in general. After being a part of corporate America for 17 years, Colleen realized that her true passion and calling were to help women act on their purpose and what’s in their hearts by providing actionable tips and strategies and, so, Lead Up for Women was born. Today, Colleen travels around the country putting up pop-up Lead Up for Women conferences and bringing local leaders and national speakers to share their stories so that women can regain their power and build their confidence to improve their business and themselves.

A lot of women are impacted by the lack of confidence to speak up and believe in themselves to step into pursuing and acting on their purpose. It sounds like a women's issue, but men need to take note as well — it really impacts everyone. Colleen and Jennifer discuss tactics and strategies that people can use to speak up and take the lead, as well as why it’s so important to realize that you do not need permission from anyone else to lead your life. They also dive into the difference between enabling and empowering others, and how this ties into managing vs. leading a team professionally. Tune in to find out more!
