In this episode, I get to sit down with Brian Dixon, to talk about clarifying your messaging, something all of us could use a little help with. Brian is a podcaster, a conference speaker, and a business coach, and he is passionate about helping high-potential leaders and teams thrive in a world of overwhelming options.

For any potential client, they’re going to be asking you, “Why should I pick you to work with?” If your messaging isn’t clear and clients can’t immediately tell what sets you apart from the rest of your competition, you are going to lose business. Brian reveals why having a personal touch and leaning into your business is so important in building enduring relationships, and how consistency in creating content plays a part. He also shares his techniques for identifying your avatar/niche down to what resonates with you. If you need tips on how to get past the mental block of being professional — not personal — with your clients and prospects, as well as how best to create valuable content for your audience, tune in to this episode!

In this episode, I chat with Steven Logreira, from Vancouver, Canada. He has been doing technical work since he got out of high school, and has a degree in Computer Engineering, with a minor in Business Administration. With over 12 years of experience in sales and eight years of being involved in the technical aspects of internet marketing, Steven now helps clients create automated processes for their workflow and systems.

Business is not just about getting the leads. That’s marketing. Sales is what you do with the leads to get to the close, and the truth is, conversion of the leads and delivering the service or product you’ve promised, consistently, are the most important things. Steven explains why it is crucial for small business owners and entrepreneurs to have a clearly articulated sales process and workflow, and why it is that so many people fail to put systems together. He also shares more about some of the roadblocks people face when it comes to creating a workflow or systems, and what the priorities should be when putting together a workflow. Remember, systems are the only way to scale and ensure consistent customer experience! Tune in to find out more!

In this episode, I want to share with you three important aspects of growing your business — Book and Block, CUSTOM, and five ways to make more money.

Book and Block — If you’re booking time for something, whether it’s to go to an event, meet with a client, or create a presentation, block time after it to do follow up and implement!

CUSTOM — Customize your offering and find your niche by using this acronym to help you.

C — Create a compelling story about your “why.”

U — Understand your strengths.

S — Supplement your weaknesses.

T— Tailor your expectations.

O — Optimize your environment.

M — Market like heck.

50 to 500 Process & Procedure — There are five main ways to make more money in your business after customizing: get more leads, get more conversions, get more transactions, raise your prices, and get rid of bad expenses. Make a 1% increase (or decrease) in each aspect every week for a whole year (50 weeks), and see a 500% increase in your business.

At the end of the day, always be asking yourself this — Is what I’m about to do going to get me paid? Does it serve my purpose and my strengths?  Is it something I have to do or can I delegate it? And is it something that needs to be done at all?

Stop Talking, Take Action, Get Results. Business and Personal Growth with Jen Du Plessis Podcast Episode: “Niche to Grow Rich”

Jul 4, 2019

In this episode, I get to sit down with Tamra Blankenship, a communication and relationship expert both in the business and personal realms. Tamra is passionate about helping people understand their patterns and how they show up in life, how that mirrors back at them, and the work that they have to do in learning how to support themselves and how to navigate their relationships. She reveals how her own personal experiences created the path for her to do the work that she does today, and why being vulnerable is not about surrendering but about showing up as the most authentic version of yourself.

When it comes to communication, Tamra explains the three main aspects to consider:

  1. Neutral communication: It’s all about coming to the communication with inquiry and inviting the other person to the conversation.
  2. Feeling loss in a relationship: We all crave collaboration, but we don’t have clarity on how to be collaborative. Ask yourself, are you in a good place with D.O.G. (Duties, Obligations, and Guilt)?
  3. Once we learn to let go and surrender, the healing will begin. What’s the best way to move forward?

Tamra has some techniques you can put to use immediately in all of your communications, whether personal or business. Tune in to find out more about how you can come to communications being authentic-focused rather than agenda-focused.
