In this episode, I want to share with you more about conversions. Conversions aren’t just about converting existing leads into clients; they’re also about converting your sources into being able to refer you. There are three main reasons why conversions don’t happen.

  1. Sales skills — How good are your sales skills?
  2. Service skills — Do you have the right amount of follow-up?
  3. Source skills — Have you chosen the right people to work with?

Look into these three areas to assess your conversion!

I’m also hosting a 3-Day Workshop in Northern Virginia from July 12–14, specifically for loan officers. We’ll be diving into how to get clarity on your personal brand and messaging, create an action-and-implementation-based business plan, and design a comprehensive marketing plan. There will be some exciting speakers, a chance to learn more about your personality and negotiating style to improve your conversion rates, and much more. Tune in to find out more details about the workshop!

In this episode, I get to sit down with Craig Oborn, the CEO and Founder of Connect52. His focus is on helping people connect back with their families and teaching people how to connect with their referral partners and clients to grow their businesses. He reveals what he was going through in his personal life and how his quest to build deeper relationships with his own family and get connected to them again evolved into Connect 52.

Ask questions to connect. That’s the essence of what Craig teaches his clients, and it serves various purposes. He explains more about his Connection Menu, a list of questions designed to help people get to know each other better, and some examples of the different contexts in which it can be used. He also shares his insights into what he has done in the real estate space, how that can be applied to any business, and the results he is helping people achieve through creating deeper connections and building stronger relationships. Tune in to find out more.

In this episode, I want to share my thoughts on a YouTube video I saw about a commencement speech given by Admiral William H. McRaven. In his speech, he shared his ten lessons on how to make an impact on people. The thing is, you never know who you're going to impact, even with the smallest actions you take. That’s why it’s so important to keep these things in mind as we move from focusing on success to significance.

  1. Make your bed — the little things matter.
  2. Find people to paddle with you — you will need some help!
  3. Measure the size of heart, not the flippers — it’s about the mindset and how hard you work.
  4. Get over being a sugar cookie and keep moving forward — Get over being a victim and get moving.
  5. Don’t be afraid of circuses — Don’t worry about measuring up to others. Hard work makes you stronger.
  6. Sometimes you have to slide down obstacles head first — Take risks to make an impact.
  7. Don’t back down from the sharks — Stand your ground and make that impact.
  8. You must be your very best in the darkest moments — You have to remain calm and composed in the worst of times, so make sure you have the skill set that you have lives up to that.
  9. Start singing when you’re up to your neck in mud — Do something that creates hope for everyone.
  10. Don’t ever, ever ring the bell — Don’t quit.

Stop Talking, Take Action, Get Results Podcast Episode: “The Real Estate of You”

Darren Hardy

Jun 11, 2019

In this episode, I get to sit down with Les Brown Jr., son of Les Brown and an inspirational motivational speaker in his own right.  Since he was a teenager, Les has been touring nationally and internationally with his father and sister, and his family was even known as the First Family of Motivation. Today, Les works on helping high achievers better their best, through his speaking events, as well as his book, The Harvard Effect.

Les and I are working on a project together called The Real Estate of You. The truth is, you are your most valuable possession, and you need to focus on that to get the success you want. Les shares more about where the idea for this concept came from,  and what the response has been to Real Estate of You. He also reveals some of the projects he has been working on and opens up about how he shifted from putting himself on the sidelines last year to focusing on himself and building his business in 2019. We also chat about BizDevPro and how being part of this tribe has benefitted us, so be sure to tune in to this jam-packed episode!
