In this episode, I get to sit down with Arwen Becker, a Retirement Planning Specialist in Seattle, WA. She is one of the founders and owners of Becker Retirement Group, a financial planning firm that focuses heavily on the women-only market. Arwen shares her own personal journey that led to her realization about the importance of financial planning and how that inspired her to cater to the women-only market.

Arwen and I discuss the reasons why there is such a huge disconnect between women and the area of finance, as well as some of the limiting beliefs that contribute to the disengagement among women. Arwen is also releasing a book soon, and she shares more about one of the key themes of the book — realizing what your core values are is the first step in financial planning. She also has some tips on what loan officers can do to create strategic partnerships with financial planners and it’s all about approaching them from a place of creating value and building a long-term relationship vs. a transactional mindset. Tune in to find out more!

Good to Great: Why Some Companies Make the Leap... and Others Don’t, by Jim Collins

Apr 4, 2019

In this episode, I want to share with you how you can use your business plan to evaluate your plans, objectives, and goals for the year. We are approaching the end of the first quarter of the year, and this is an excellent time to be taking stock of where you are on your path in your business for the year. Are you on the right track to hit your goals, or are you veering off in the wrong direction?

I reveal my three-part strategy: Tracking, Reviewing and Analyzing. These three things are something you should be doing in relation to your business plan, on a consistent basis. It’s not about blindly sticking to your plan, but tweaking your plans to get to the ultimate goal you're seeking; the secret lies in Constant And Never-ending Improvement (CANI). I share an example of a client I worked with, and my step-by-step process to help her get aligned with her business plan and stay on track to reach her goals. I also have an action item for you to work on immediately to get yourself back on track to hit your goals this year, so be sure to tune in.
